Passing of Gertrude (Gertie) Cathrine Harington

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company announce the passing of Gertrude (Gertie) Catherine Harrington Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen's Association (1963-1964, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association (1955-1956), Hall of Fame Member to both the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen's Association, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association.

Life Member of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Holder of many offices of the Auxiliary.

Spring Fundraising

You'll soon be receiving our Spring fundraising mailing that talks about our next goal: purchasing a thermal imaging camera. Thermal imaging provides us the ability to quickly locate victims in a smoke filled building or find the location of the fire. This has become a valuable asset in the fire service and we'd like to add it to our set of tools. Read the following story about the success of using a thermal imager:
