The Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Assocation (later renamed to Company) was born on March 25, 1955 when a group of Broadneck peninsula residents gathered at the clubhouse to discuss the growing needs of their community. A group of local contractors became the board and volunteers. In May 1955, a used fire engine was purchased from a local department. In 1956, land was acquired and in February 1957 the first building was completed. It consisted of 3 engine bays, a small office, a sitting room, and a bathroom. Over time there have been additions to the building, upgrades to the apparatus, and multiple changing of the guard to bring us to where we are today.
Please join us Sunday, March 23rd from 4pm-7pm as we celebrate 70 years of dedicated service to the Cape St Claire community with an open house, food trucks, and of course cake!
